2nd Marriage? Better Read This!

Couples who choose to marry a second time usually enter the covenant of marriage with a completely different perspective than they had on that first go-round. If each partner has children from the previous marriage(s), they have a built-in conflict brewing even if they don't realize it. Your new spouse may love you but he (or she) is most likely more devoted to his or her own children than to the ones you brought with you. It is difficult for families to acknowledge this fact, and yet, if you died first, it is very likely that her children will come out better than your children. That is, unless you take the time to sit down with an Estate-planning attorney to review all of the possibilities. You can each provide for your respective children but you won't be successful unless you take the time to put your plan in place. The best plans still in your head when you die are worth nothing.

If you are in a 2nd marriage (or 3rd or 4th), make an appointment to talk with a lawyer. It is an investment in your future and your children's future.
